Why homeowners choose luxury vinyl plank

  • Realistic wood and stone looks at a practical price point.
  • Water-resistant or waterproof construction (check each product's specs), which makes it a strong choice for kitchens, baths, laundry rooms and entries.
  • A durable wear layer handles kids, pets and busy households.
  • Quieter and softer underfoot than tile. Many products have an attached underlayment.
  • Easy everyday cleaning with no waxing or refinishing.

Care tips

  • Sweep or vacuum (no beater bar) to remove grit.
  • Damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner made for vinyl or the manufacturer's recommended cleaner. Skip abrasive powders, wax and "mop and shine" products.
  • Put felt or non-staining protectors under furniture. Rubber-backed mats can discolor some vinyl.
  • Use window coverings in rooms with strong direct sun to limit fading and heat buildup.
  • Wipe up spills promptly, even on waterproof floors, so water doesn't reach the walls or subfloor.

General guidance only. Always follow the manufacturer's care instructions for your floor.
